Welcoming Ministry

This team is the "face" of New Day.  Whether you are a greeter as someone walks through the doors of the auditorium, or the friendly face at the Information Table, if you enjoy making people feel welcome, this team is for you.  Please click here to email about this opportunity. Please include your with your email and phone number and we will connect you with team leaders Mike and Lynette Volkers.

Setup/Takedown (affectionately known as the Roadies)

If you are looking to help "behind the scenes", check out the Roadies.  Roadies come at 8:30 to set up all of the elements that turn the Middle School into a Sunday Morning Church Experience.  Some light lifting is required, but usually nothing over 15 lbs.  After the service, they pack things up on the carts to be hauled away for another week.  This is a great entry level team. If this team is for you, click here to email about this opportunity.  Please include your with your email and phone number and we will connect you with team leader, Marci Wiegand.

Trailer Hauling/Outdoor signs (Must be 18.)

Every week, most of our New Day Items are hauled from our church office near Target, to the Middle School. Volunteers in this ministry must have a vehicle capable of hauling an enclosed trailer.  Volunteers will also place our outdoor signs at critical visual points near the entrances, so people know where to go!  While this team is not for everyone, it is a necessary component to Sunday morning church! If this team is for you, click here to email about this opportunity. Please include your with your email and phone number and we will connect you with team leader, Rus Wiegand.

Buffet (Must be 16, or be able to shop for and deliver snacks.)

What would fellowship be without yummy snacks!  Our wonderful snack team shops and sets up snacks for after church visiting time.  (Snacks and drinks are paid for by prepaid gift cards provided by New Day.)  If this team is for you, click here to email about this opportunity. Please include your with your email and phone number and we will connect you with team leader Jean Marcis.

Music

Do you play an instrument or sing?  If you would love to serve God and New Day with your musical talents, If this team is for you, click here to email about this opportunity.

AV (Audio/Visual)

Having service in an auditorium requires tech help!  We have three A/V positions available for you to choose from.  All positions will shadow experienced helpers for 2-3 services to get the hang of the position. If this team is for you, click here to email about this opportunity. Please include your with your email and phone number and we will connect you with team leader, Chad Grundemann.

  • Our Computer Tech is responsible for the recording of our message audio, as well as the slideshow you see on Sunday morning.  (Slideshow is created ahead of time, the Computer Tech just runs it.)  This position is great for someone who has basic to proficient computer skills.
  • Our First Engineer is in charge of lights and the video relay to the auditorium for the simulcast as well as assisting the Sound Tech.
  • The Sound Tech is responsible for the sound board at the middle school.  He/She works closely with the musicians, other AV techs as well as Pastor Aaron or additional speakers to be sure to allow for the best sound with the least amount of distractions! (Middle school policy states the Sound Tech must be 18.)

Children's Ministries

At New Day, we offer great children's programs to both keep our kids safe, as well as provide the best opportunities for them to learn about God with age-appropriate lessons.  We have Nursery available for babies 6 weeks old to 3 years old, we have Kids Club for older kids, ages 3 through 3rd Grade, and guided discussion time for our 4th & 5th graders during Club 45.  Volunteers of all ages are welcome! Finally, when in doubt, just come to "The Buzz".  The Buzz is a time before the service when people from New Day just connect over coffee and conversation in the commons at the Middle School on Sunday mornings.  We setup at 8:30, and The Buzz usually gets going about 9 am when everything is in place!
